What are miinerals?
Minerals are inorganic (do not contain carbon) compounds present in food that are beneficial to the body.
Calcium (for development of bones and teeth among other things) and magnesium (proper functions of muscles and nerves etc.) are two common examples.
They are much simpler in structure than vitamins and cannot be manufactued by the body, in other words you have to get enough of them from foods sources. If you cannot get enough from food sources you need to supplement. Minerals are absorbed from food and water.
